Mexico Triumphs at the 2025 Amputee Football Gold Cup in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico (July 8–12)

The 2025 Amputee Football Gold Cup came to an exciting close in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico, where matches were hosted at the PROAN Sports Center, a venue that became the beating heart of the tournament for five unforgettable days.

Five nations — Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala — battled it out, with the Gold Cup not only deciding the regional champion but also serving as a qualification pathway to the WAFF World Cup 2026 in Costa Rica.

Mexico proved unstoppable on home soil, finishing on top and lifting the Gold Cup trophy. Right behind them, the USA fought their way to second place, while Costa Rica claimed third. With those results, all three nations booked their tickets to next year’s World Cup.

But the Gold Cup was about more than results. It was about the speed, skill, and determination on display, and the way amputee football continues to grow across the Americas. El Salvador and Guatemala brought grit and passion to the field, pushing every opponent and showing the depth of talent across the region.

For fans who missed the action live, every match was streamed and can still be watched on the WAFF YouTube Channel. Match results, highlights, and updates can also be found on the WAFF Instagram and WAFF Facebook pages.
