From 9 to 15 November 2025, Jakarta became a stirring arena of courage, unity, and determination. Eight nations from across Asia came together in the Asian Amputee Football Cup, not only to compete for a trophy, but to earn one of the four coveted places at the WAFF Amputee Football World Cup 2026 in Costa Rica.
The teams on the field were: Indonesia (host), Malaysia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Syria, Uzbekistan, and Yemen.
It was a historic moment for Yemen, taking part in an international amputee-football tournament for the first time as a new WAFF member. Syria, too, brought a newly re-established national team to the competition, adding emotional depth and pride to their participation.
On 15 November, the championship reached its emotional peak as Iran triumphed 2–1 over Uzbekistan in a gripping final filled with passion and pride.
In the third-place match, Japan claimed victory 1–0 against Iraq, securing their spot among Asia’s four qualifiers.
With these results, Iran, Uzbekistan, Japan, and Iraq earned their tickets to the WAFF World Cup 2026 in San José, Costa Rica.
