The World Amputee Football Federation is proud to announce that the WAFF World Cup 2026 will take place in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico, from 13–22 November 2026.
After eight years, the World Cup returns to Mexico — a country with deep passion for football and strong support for the amputee football community. In November 2026, the world’s best teams will come together again to compete for the highest title in our sport
24 Nations – One Dream
Twenty-four national teams have qualified through the African, Asian, European and American confederation tournaments. Each team has worked hard to earn its place at this prestigious event and will now compete to become WAFF World Champion 2026.
These teams represent not only football excellence, but also dedication, discipline and the power of teamwork.
Strong Champions – Stronger Competition
At the 2018 World Cup in Mexico, Angola made history by winning the title for the first time after defeating Turkey in the final. Meanwhile, Brazil secured the bronze medal ahead of the host nation, Mexico. At the last 2022 World Cup in Istanbul, the home team Turkey defeated Angola, with Uzbekistan securing third place. Over the past four years, many national teams have improved significantly. This was evident during the 5 qualifying tournaments. This promises a very competitive and exciting tournament in 2026, where every match will matter
Proud Host Nation
The WAFF World Cup 2026 tournament will be organized by the Mexican Amputee Football Federation under the leadership of its President, Jan Gauna, with the support and sponsorship of PROAN, as the local organizing Committee. Together, they are preparing a professional event that will celebrate the sport and its players in the best possible way.
More Than a Competition
The WAFF World Cup 2026 is not only about winning a trophy. It is about courage, respect and international friendship. It is about showing the world the strength, skill and determination of amputee football players at the highest level. San Juan de los Lagos will become the meeting point of the global amputee football family — players, coaches, officials and fans — united by one passion.
We look forward to welcoming the world to Mexico in November 2026
