16 national teams will play 48 matches in eight days in Poland, 5–12 September 2027

The World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) confirms that Kraków, Poland, will host the second WAFF Women’s Amputee Football World Cup from 5 to 12 September 2027.

The joint bid from the City of Kraków and the Polish Amputee Football Association was selected ahead of bids from São Paulo, Brazil, and Kigali, Rwanda. The WAFF host-selection committee recommended Kraków unanimously, following a review of the bid documents and an inspection visit in June 2026.

“Kraków made a huge impression on us,” said Ashley Reid, member of the WAFF host-selection committee. “We saw not only excellent facilities, but above all the commitment of the people behind this project. That energy, hospitality and belief in the growth of women’s amputee football make Kraków the right place for this tournament.”

16 Nations – 48 Matches – Three Venues

Depending on the number of interested countries, teams will take part either by invitation or through a qualification system organised by WAFF. WAFF has already invited its member associations to register their interest. The teams will be drawn into four groups and play 48 matches at three Kraków venues: the Cracovia stadium, Garbarnia and Prądniczanka. The deciding matches will be played at the Cracovia stadium.

Poland: A Home for Women's Amputee Football

Poland has played a leading role in the women’s game. It formed Europe’s first women’s amputee national team, hosted the first official women’s international match, and staged Europe’s first women’s club matches in March 2026. Kraków hosted the 2021 men’s European Championship, when more than 8,000 fans filled the Cracovia stadium.

Building on Colombia 2024

The first Women’s Amputee Football World Cup was held in Barranquilla, Colombia, in November 2024. Hosts Colombia won the title, the USA finished second and Poland won bronze. The 2027 edition aims to welcome teams from even more regions of the world.
