The first Women’s Amputee World Cup will be an exciting milestone for the sport and the global amputee football family, taking place from 4-10 November 2024 in Barranquilla, Colombia. In addition to the host country, 11 other teams are preparing to take part, representing nations from Africa, the Americas and Europe.
From Africa, teams from Cameroon, Nigeria and possibly Rwanda are expected. The Americas will be represented by Brazil, Haiti, Peru and Ecuador, while Europe will be represented by England, Poland and Ukraine.
The group draw will take place on 26 September 2024 and will reveal the final structure of the competition. This tournament is set to be a major event in the promotion of amputee football, particularly for women’s participation in the sport, helping to raise its global profile.
