Uruguay emerged victorious in the COPA SUDAMERICANA FUTBOL AMPUTADOS, defeating Colombia 3-1 in the final match held on Saturday. This tournament, which took place from September 24 to 28, was hosted in Maldonado, a scenic city located about 125 km from Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. Five teams participated in the event: Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and the home team, Uruguay.
The final was an intense and closely contested match, with Uruguay ultimately claiming the title after a strong performance. Colombia also displayed excellent form throughout the tournament, making it a competitive encounter. The event was organized by CONSFA, the South American Confederation of Amputee Football, alongside Uruguay’s national amputee football federation.
This competition also served as a precursor for the upcoming South American qualification tournament, which will determine the three regional teams that will advance to the WAFF World Cup 2026.
